What is currently going on in the Nobody Scores! production facilities (there are five locations):
I am going to be gone the rest of the week. I return Tuesday the 21st. This is not the foretold Summer Pause to Reflect; I’ll be making comics. But I won’t be able to scan slash color them until I get back. When I do, it’ll be with at least two comics worth of, uh, comics. People ask me, “Why can’t you let Beans score for a change?” and I plan to let you all find out good and hard.
So what I am leaving you with is the terrible tale of the She-Muse, who in true Greek fashion is the human embodiment of the artistic impulse. The moral is, suppress your artistic impulses! Stick to your day jobs. I happen to know the Greek embodiment of the day job looks pretty much like Skeletor. “Well fuck,” you say, “that’s not much of a choice,” and yeah: that’s Greek mythology, the core tenet of which is “fuck you, mortal,” but allow me to point out that Skeletor has a sword.
Then there is a tale of Beans’s artistic shenanigans to tide you over. Oh but this probably won’t work, so I have dug up some
IRON RATIONS
You pick the lock to the cache and find 2d6 internet links. You are pricked by a poison needle! You are slain. I don’t even know what the fuck an “iron ration” is. A medieval Powerbar? Poor, poor adventurers.
I found Motro clicking around randomly. It is a surreal comic fantasy thing and it is, like, dreamy.
I forget how I found the Abstract Comics Blog but it is super neat, and carves the path to the future, where meaning in comics is obsolete! Some say Nobody Scores! has already gotten to this future. They are dicks.
Mumblier, I found because they advertised here for a brief second. These are small, dreamlike, wry, infinite-canvas format comics, and are interesting to look at.
Emitown I found because I actually accosted the artist in a coffee shop as she was trying to draw in peace. “Hey you,” I said, “You are doing comics!” These are freeform journal comics, sorrta in the tone of Wasted Talent but less comicstriplike.
Sweet-ass American Trends I found via a blog I read. It is as described.
Back in a week with more comics!
