anticlimactic, planetary
Yeah, I didn’t have an awe-inspiring epic lined up for comic number dun dun dun two hundred, just a little Halloween costume bit. Honestly this milestone kind of snuck up on me. Soon, I’ll be 50, and I’ll be pregnant. I expect to be informed of both these developments in the mail this weekend.
I would like to congratulate the small crew of dedicated people – no, machines – that have plugged scripts into the awfully mercurial Ohnorobot.com interface: we’ve got over 50% of these comics transcribed, and that’s no mean feat considering how long the suckers are and how much I like to write text sideways. I worry about your sanity, peoples. But at this rate the long dark journey through the valley of data entry will be over surprisingly quickly, and then I can try to make the things into a handy reference somehow.
Ok that was boring. Here are some fun things I found that are appealing and fresh, like gum commercials, except also with the fun:
Here is fun. Basically it’s two guys drawing superpowerheroes, each one cunningly designed to defeat the powers of the last. It makes the most sense if you start from the bottom and go up.
This is the freeeakiest bit of manga I have ever seen. It is also, by way of warning, “hentai”, if I am keeping up with my terms right. Basically you click through enough, you gonna see some weird-ass shit with jumbly bits. Just so’s you know. But it is also about the weirdest thing done with the comic form I’ve seen in a long time.
Here is a blogger that focuses on only the most essential panels in comics.
This Flash game is sure to appeal to the Nobody Scores! audience. Hint: don’t win!
Does that look like fun? I think that looks like fun. The comment vortex is, as usual, open for commenting and the sharing of sandwich recipes.
